Description

Welcome to ConstructSafe Academy

Week 3 – Poor Planning

How Problems Begin Before Work Starts

Welcome to another ConstructSafe Academy Micro-Learning course.

I'm Kuya Safe, and I'll be your learning facilitator throughout this week's journey.

Poor planning is one of the most common contributors to delays, operational pressure, and unnecessary safety risks in construction projects. Most workplace problems do not begin during execution—they begin long before the first task starts.

Throughout this course, you'll explore how preparation, communication, leadership, and decision-making influence safe and efficient work execution.

Learning Objective

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain how poor planning contributes to operational pressure and workplace risk.
  • Recognize common planning weaknesses before work begins.
  • Understand the influence of leadership during planning and execution.
  • Apply practical planning questions that improve work readiness and safety performance.

Course Structure

This micro-learning course consists of:

  • 7 Learning Segments
  • 7 Reflection Activities
  • 1 Spot the Hazard Activity
  • 1 Knowledge Check
  • 1 Final Course Reflection

Each lesson is designed to encourage reflection on real construction work experiences and promote practical learning that can be applied immediately in the workplace.

Estimated Duration

15–20 Minutes

A Message from Kuya Safe

Learning is most valuable when it changes the way we think before it changes the way we work.

As you progress through this course, don't simply watch the lessons. Reflect on your own experiences, compare them with the situations presented, and consider how better planning can help create safer and more successful work execution.

Let's begin.
